I know legal documents are boring, but I've tried to make this one different. These terms are written in plain English by a real person (me) who actually cares about being fair and transparent.
Look, I know nobody reads these things, but I'm going to be straight with you. By using ZoneFolio, you're agreeing to these terms.
I've tried to write this in plain English instead of legal jargon. If something doesn't make sense, just email me and I'll explain it.
These terms exist to protect both of us, but mostly to keep things fair and prevent abuse of the platform.
ZoneFolio is a simple portfolio builder I created because I was tired of overpriced, bloated alternatives.
It's built and maintained by me (Youssef) - one person, not a massive corporation. This means I care about every user, but it also means I have limitations.
The service helps you create professional portfolio websites without needing to code. Some features are free, others require a small monthly fee to keep the lights on.
I host everything on reliable cloud providers, but like any online service, occasional downtime can happen. I'll always be transparent about any issues.
Keep your password secure. I can't see your password (it's encrypted), but if someone else gets access to your account, that's on you.
Don't share your account with others. Each account is for one person. If you need team features, upgrade to a plan that supports it.
If you notice anything suspicious with your account, email me immediately. I take security seriously and will help you sort it out.
I reserve the right to suspend accounts that are clearly being abused, but I'll always try to contact you first to resolve any issues.
Everything you upload is yours. I don't claim ownership of your work, photos, or content. That would be ridiculous.
I only need permission to display your content as part of the service (otherwise your portfolio wouldn't work). I won't use it for anything else.
Please don't upload copyrighted material you don't own, illegal content, or anything that could get us both in trouble.
If you delete your account, I'll delete your content too. I might keep some basic analytics data (anonymized) to improve the service.
Don't use ZoneFolio for anything illegal. This should be obvious, but apparently it needs to be stated.
Don't try to hack the platform or upload malicious code. I've built security measures, but please don't test them.
Don't harass other users or use the platform to spread hate. Be a decent human being.
Don't create fake portfolios or impersonate others. Authenticity is the whole point of having a portfolio.
Free accounts are free forever. No hidden fees, no credit card required to start.
Paid plans help me keep the service running and add new features. Prices are clearly listed on the pricing page.
I offer refunds within 30 days if you're not happy. Just email me - no need to fight with a chatbot.
If I need to change prices, I'll give you at least 30 days notice. Existing subscribers keep their current rate until they change plans.
I don't sell your data. Period. That's not my business model.
I collect minimal data needed to run the service and improve it. Check the Privacy Policy for details.
Your published portfolios are public by design - that's the point. But your account info and unpublished content stay private.
I use analytics to understand how people use ZoneFolio, but it's anonymized data that can't be traced back to you personally.
I do my best to keep ZoneFolio running smoothly, but I'm not perfect and neither is technology.
If the service goes down or you lose data due to my mistake, I'll work to fix it and make it right.
However, I can't be held responsible for damages beyond what you've paid for the service. I'm a solo developer, not a Fortune 500 company.
Always keep backups of important content. I backup everything, but you should too.
You can cancel anytime. No contracts, no cancellation fees. Just stop using the service or delete your account.
If you're on a paid plan, you'll keep access until the end of your billing period, then revert to the free plan.
I might need to terminate accounts that violate these terms, but I'll always try to resolve issues first.
If I ever decide to shut down ZoneFolio (which I don't plan to), I'll give you plenty of notice and help you export your data.
I might need to update these terms occasionally as the service evolves or laws change.
If I make significant changes, I'll email you about it. Minor clarifications might just be updated here.
I'll always try to make changes that benefit users, not just protect me legally.
If you don't like the changes, you can always export your data and leave. No hard feelings.
If you have questions about these terms or anything else, just email me. I read and respond to every message personally.
I aim to respond within 24 hours, usually much faster. I'm in the GMT+2 timezone, so responses might be delayed overnight.
I'm here to help, not hide behind corporate policies. If something seems unfair or confusing, let's talk about it.
If anything in these terms seems unclear or unfair, just email me directly. I'm a real person and I'll explain it in plain English or fix it if it's actually problematic.
